My computer got a mad gnarly virus and it wont go away. i gotta wipe out my comp or reinstall or whatever the fuck taht i gotta do. there is one last way to get all my shit back, but its like mad complicated and i dont really understand it. But, if i gotta wipe, then final apocalypse is dead forever x.x which will BREAK MY HEART.

So thats whyi havent submitted in an asslong time. If someone knows a way to get my data back for music and source sdk maps then it would be mad appreciated.

For now, Listen to what i got.

If you want to get your music back, try installing a new version of XP, Vista, whatever. But don't format the computer, install it along with whatever you still have. That way when you boot, you can choose between your virused and new OS, then search through your documents and save all your music. Or take it to a shop.

hey thank you! i cant install. i found its insane adware, as soon as i log on it just freezes all processes but the mouse works fine haha. ill figure something out.

You can download some kind of Linux distro (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.) and use it as a Live CD. This allows you to boot the entire OS from the cd without ever installing it. Then you can find your windows drive and transfer your files to an external harddrive. Or set up a partition, install Linux on it and then drag your files to the Linux side. Then you can just reinstall Windows and drag back the files. Hope this helps.

I'd be more than happy to help you if it were a mac. But I am not windows-savvy, unfortunately.

I'll give you one advice though: DO NOT ACT HASTILY. You could do something you'll regret if you act on panic/ emotions/ stress etc. do not try anything that could permanently damage your files yet. Just close the mofo computer and sleep on it. Give it some time to see if you can find someone that knows what he is doing. Take time to read forums etc.

1 tB External HD. Thats what I use for all my backups if my laptop decides to fuck up.
Good luck with it though. Would be a shame if you lost everything, cause your music is awesome.
